Alaïa’s exclusive new London café and bookstore is a tribute to the art of hospitality.
Located on the third floor of Alaïa’s London flagship, this intimate space—inspired by Azzedine Alaïa’s renowned hospitality—features a Violet Cakes bakery alongside a carefully curated bookstore by Claire de Rouen.
Pieter Mulier, the house's current creative director, introduces a new café and bookstore on the upper floor of its London Bond Street boutique. Designed around a central aluminum table—fostering cultural exchanges and a spirit of conviviality—the modernist space is home to Violet Cakes, the renowned bakery founded in East London by Claire Ptak.
The second-floor space features a bookstore curated by London-based Claire de Rouen, a renowned destination for rare art, photography, and fashion books. The carefully selected and ever-evolving collection can be explored in a library-like setting, complete with armchairs and a long communal table, reminiscent of traditional reading rooms.
